Joseph Christian, Capital one 360 card

I've been contacted on FB by a guy who calls himself Joseph D Cristian. Says he is a 53 yo petroleum engineer, out of Stockton, California, and has a 12 yo daughter named Belinda. I have now read several versions of that, under different names. He keeps sending pictures of a middle aged white guy with gray hair and beard.

He started asking for money and gifts for the girl. That clued me in. Does anyone know why, what is the purpose of asking the woman to get a Capital one 360 card? How can it be used to steal money? It seems to be a new part of the scam. I am curious.

I've read that Interpol could even get involved.
