Military Love Scam

by Snow
(Singapore)

I was contacted by this person by the name of Dr. Kevin Beckman via LinkedIn a few weeks ago, claiming that he is a soon to retire US Military doctor deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan on a NATO peace mission. He is a widow and an orphan, has a 13 year old daughter.

He plans to visit Singapore after retiring from the military service. This became quickly to an "advance fee" scam because he wanted to ship 2.8 million US dollars in cash to me.

Of course I didn't pay and cut off contacts. But this scammer has good language skills and wrote romantic poems... very deceiving. I found out and confirmed this is a scam with stolen pictures.

Was added by someone claiming to work for the UN in Iran as a doctor and about to retire (he said he was 54). They always call you Dear for some reason. He said he was originally German but from Miami. Wife died in a car accident and his son was in boarding school in America.

I didn’t carry on the convo after reading your story

Military Love Scam

This same scammer used a different name by Dr Daniel Matlock and he also used Dr. Kevin Beckman as well to scam people via LinkedIn. Used the same picture as Snow who reported him. The storyline is the same. Very good language skills and write poems.

Currently works in Syria base, widowed, has a daughter of 13 years old, wife died of stomach cancer. Wanted me to keep his USD$2.8 million for him in my country by giving him my full name, phone number and full address. Send passport image to me to prove he is legit.

Of course, I did not buy that. I feel sorry for the stolen pictures he got on hand to frame the person's reputation.
