North sea oil rig scam

Does anyone come across Santiago Maya, who says he is a marine engineer on a North sea oil rig in Ireland. I lost £2300. I did block him but he pursues me. He beats Romeo for charming smooth talk. He is on a 5 year contract and to meet me, cost me a fortune because he says he doesnt have access to his bank account (thats a red flag) but I allowed this man to manipulate me.


His wife died 5 years ago. Parent died when he was young and a teacher adopted him. Plans to meet up cost me £40 parking at Birmingham airport because I couldn't find him, Sat 4th, 2021 morning flight then got a email that he had been arrested in Turkey by immigration and handed over to the customs because he had a large amount of cash on him and high value shopping gold, watches, handbag and safe with American cash with $21,000,000 with a photo and then sent to my WhatsApp further 2 pics and video.

Up until today he is claiming that he is in jail and he must pay USD$70000 and asking me for more money and I said NO because I have used up all my savings for my holiday which he promised to repay me when visiting me.

I was searching for evidences that he is a scammer and I have found it because I was going to send more money for him to be released from jail. I have been in shock and beating myself up because I been tricked and fell for it.

I haven't told my parents who were looking forward to see their grandchildren for their family Christmas reunion and lost my booking. It hurt bad but I leave this case to Almighty God to deal with him.

Reported to my bank and Western Union.

Really sorry to hear that as I also am a victim and all these people are a bunch of Nigerian scammers. In my story he is in police arrest in Malaysia for now nearly 2 months and no contact or still didnt ask for any money yet to release him from Jail.

That is the next section of the script I am expecting. Be strong and don't send any more money.

Hi, your story sounds similar to mine. He was a widower. Oil rig engineer. He does not have access to his money. He was also arrested and imprisoned. I should have paid the bail for his release. I also lost a lot of money. Do you have a photo of this man? Alternatively, his phone number. It would help a lot. Most of them are all Nigerian fraudsters who steal identities from other people on social networks. It's a crime and they do it all the time. Then they rob women for money. They do nothing nonstop sitting behind a computer and stealing. You were not the only one with whom this impostor communicated. They also communicate with ten women at once. If you have his email phone number or photo, please post it here.

Wendy: I am so very sorry that Santiago Maya scammed you. He is indeed a smooth talking scammer. However, don’t beat yourself up. You can learn from this experience although a painful and expensive lesson.

I would also report to the authorities.
