Oliver Benjamin - Oil Rig Engineer - Scammer

Ladies, please beware of Oliver Benjamin! He has a LinkedIn profile, impersonating an oil rig engineer working for Payet Engineering. He claims he is offshore in Germany. He’s an orphan from the UK and has a 9 year old daughter at a boarding school there.

He is using pictures of a real person, Steve G. Jones, a hypnotherapist based in Savannah, GA. Unfortunately, Mr. Jones’ pictures have been used by several scammers.

After 3 weeks of romancing me via Hangouts, I wanted to end the relationship because he wanted me to send him $300 Amazon gift card to update his computer so we can do a video chat. I blocked him on Hangouts.

Unfortunately, he still had my email address and threatened to release nude pictures of me to friends and family. I panicked and ended up sending a gift card to him. However, he continued to demand more money.

I finally came to my senses and determined he is never going to stop harassing me. So I blocked him from my email. I have not heard from him since.

Even though I already blocked him on LinkedIn and reported him, he is still on LinkedIn and continues to connect with women to victimize them. I even contacted LinkedIn's Member Safety and Recovery Team to report Oliver Benjamin as a scammer but they said since the scam is "not occurring within the LinkedIn platform, they have no authority to address the issue."
