Romance Scammer - Ethan Cicero

by Linda
(San Jose, CA USA)

Out $44,000!!! I can't believe I fell for this idiots BS. I already know I'll never get my $ back so I don't even need to explain the BS that I fell for. I'm so embarrased and upset.

Has anyone seen or know of this guy? The first picture is what he looks like on Skype. Not so much like the guy in the other pictures he's using. I feel sorry for the guy who's identity he stole and is using. He has a phone number of (424) 261-9723, and an email address of cirethan@gmail.com.

He's also on LinkedIn. I met him on Match.com. He said he was in San Jose, CA, had applied for permanent residence and ended up in London or Manchester due to issues with his job.

Never met him. I don't think he was ever here to begin with!

I FOUND OUT WHO HE IS!!!
by: Anonymous

His real name is Jacob Devlin. He's approximately 27-31 years old and lives in the Islington area of London, England. I placed a Craiglist ad in all of the zip codes in the area with a picture I got of him on Skype and the pictures of the guy with the stolen identity he was using. I thought he could be in England and I got a lead from someone who knows him.

He said I know him and I know what he is capable of. I also got a good physical address for him this morning. These two used to work together. That's how he knows him. A few of his ex co-workers said he's talking of leaving the country soon. I filed a report with Action Fraud in England, a site to use for these types of situations, but was told they couldn't help. Same with Islington police department. They suggested I call Action Fraud. Thanks a lot.

I have this man pinned down pretty much on a silver platter and no one will help me apprehend him. I want him arrested and to get my money back. Now I'm trying on the US end. Does anyone have any good suggestions on who I can contact? Someone or some entity that really gives a crap about helping me apprehend this guy and to, at the very least, make him pay restitution to get my money back?

I am desperate. I am not going to give up until I get some results. I know someone out there cares enough to help someone who was scammed out of $45K. I don't relish starting all over, but am prepared to if I have to. I'd like to get him before he leaves the county, like he's thinking about doing. That's probably because I left him a voicemail message telling him I knew who he was and he wasn't as slick as he thought, and that he had 48 hours to put my money back in my account or I will do what I have to do to make sure he is arrested and is forced to pay me restitution. Must have scared the crap out of him.

But not enough to pay me back!!!

If anyone has any leads or ideas on who might be able to help me, please email me at lindaq1717@gmail.com or call me at (650) 793-2062.

Thank you for your time.

About the romance scammer
by: Anonymous

Hi. Please call the FBI, they recommend you call them if you were scammed out of $30,000 or more. Unfortunately for me, I only lost $3,525 but I feel so bad and also ashamed. Please don't stress, and don't erase none of the messages. File your complaint, a police report and report it to the FBI, you have a better chance of getting some of your money back. They recently caught a Nigerian scammer that scammed a lady out of $100,000.

Don’t EVER give them money
by: Anonymous

Their stories are always so similar. My guy said he lived in San Francisco. I knew the area because I grew up in the Bay Area. Some things weren’t making since so I offered to come up there and meet him. A quick plane ride from LA. The next thing you know his JOB took him to London.

It turned out he WAS a Nigerian scammer. He busted himself on WhatsApp. Something went awry and it showed ALL the girls he has been conning. The same BS lines to all of us professing his undiein love. It was sickening. I contacted as many women as I could to warn them of this snake. He admitted to me finally because I had so much proof.

What was amazing is how some women wouldn’t believe me when I tried to warn them and tell them they were being scammed. They suspected I was out to get them somehow. Weird, don’t know how warning you about a scam artist is scamming them. I finally had to send a screen shot of ALL the women he scammed and the sweet talking to ALL of them at once. Be VERY careful their good at what they do.

Don’t EVER send money "Especially" if you have never met them. I’m sure the guy that scammed me NEVER lived in this Country and when I said I wanted to meet him he suddenly had to leave the Country. Common theme I’ve seen and heard if with these scammers.

I’m sooo sorry to hear you lost money.
