I was scammed by this man who calls himself Thomas Fredrick who poses to be an architect living in Cedar Falls NC.

We met on March and had scheduled a date. One week before our date, he called and said he had to go to Dubai because the hotel remodel he was in charge of had an explosion and two workers were killed.

Hence the saga begins. The hotel remodel was his last job and he was looking for a last relationship once he completed the 6 million dollar contract.

Once he arrived, he was asked to pay thousands of dollars for the death of the employees. When he didn't have the money, his passport was confiscated and he needed to pay an additional $50,000 to get his passport back.

When I told him that I didn't believe him, he had his lawyer call me. His name was James Kaplan, who of course, was an imposter as well. While I tried to validate all that he told me, I was "all in" even though I couldn't find an address or land title for his home in NC or an address, I still was under his spell.

There were so many requests for money: he was being kicked out of his apartment, he had a heart attack and needed money for his care, he had to pay workers who were on strike..the needs were endless.

My daughter warned me but I choose to believe him and almost lost my cherished relationship with her.

I borrowed money from the bank to "help him" and I will be paying it off for the next 5 years.

This man is heartless and will lie relentlessly.

I am sure he will do this again and again.
